LISA MANDELSTEIN MUSIC - Birthday Salon Plans Shaping Up!
I hope you've got Saturday 9/20 on your calendars and can join me in some merrymaking of the musical sort! A bunch of folks have offered to share their talents so you're in for some tasty songs! Here's a rough draft lineup:
7- 8 PM - I kick it of at 7 followed by some amazing folks:
Maureen Brennan, harpist with "Wake the Dead" with a few solo tunes
The always suave Connie Doolan crooning a couple tunes in the jazz vein
Bob Hillman, bringing his sharp, insightful lyrics (he's won awards and accolades and toured with Suzanne vega!) and smart playing! The guy is amazing!
And, then we'll all eat cake!
8:30 - 9:30 PM - Alex Walsh kicks the second set off strong with his cool guitar licks and great lyrics
Ilene Adar - some of you are still asking me about her from the last time she played. Here's your chance to hear this honey-voiced fingerpicking sweetheart of a songwriter.
Christopher Smith came in 5th place at this year's esteemed Folks Festival New Song Competition. Strong guitar playing, rich voice and quirky memorable songs!
And (still tentative 'cause she's coming from another gig) Monica Pasqual of "Blame Sally" is planning to stop by to play a few songs at some point in the evening. She writes exquisite piano songs and it will be a real treat to hear her!
